Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift is a pop/country singer-songwriter since the age of 20. The stories she tells of her romance and love at first sight are gaining her acclaim throughout the 21st century. Swift began to show an keen interest in the world of music at a young age. She made rapid progress through the play of kids, to her first public appearance in front of a large crowd. Swift was only 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. The following year she wrote her first songs, and also took up guitar. Swift took inspiration from artists in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and the Chicks to develop original material that expressed the apathy she felt when she was of thirteen. Swift left Pennsylvania along with her parents into Hendersonville, Tennessee after she was 13 years old to dedicate her time to courting artists from the genre of country music in Nashville.
